Battle between Romans and Persians
Caesar is depicted in the center on a larger scale than the soldiers who surround him. The ground beneath the horses of the Romans is covered by dead and wounded enemy combatants. At right, four elephants on which Persians are mounted are drawing a two-wheeled chariot whose driver is female. Her position at the side of the Persians signifies that she is probably a personification of Persia, which is actively intervening in the battle (fig.1).

A series of Persian prisoners, men and women, accompanied by Roman guards is led out of a city whose walls can be distinguished at the far right (fig.2).
Αdventus Augusti – the peaceful arrival of Caesar in a city
Caesar sits on a four-horse chariot at the left of the scene; behind him his guard is depicted, while a procession of Persians approaches him from the opposite side. The figure leading the procession appears to be wearing a walled crown (corona muralis), and is interpreted as the personification of the country (fig.3)
Animals laden with booty
The frieze is badly damaged, but probably depicts another series of animals laden with the spoils of war (fig.4)
