The face of the podium on the track side was marble. The podium itself consisted of three elements: base, body, and finial. The base of the podium on which marble orthostates (0.17-0.30 m. thick, 0.85-0.95 m. tall) rested was built of two rows of marble blocks. The crowning element of the orthostates, as seen from the impressions preserved on the body, consisted of marble slabs (thickness 0.25-0.30 m., width approx. 0.80 m.). In section, it must have been beveled, as we know from similar examples of hippodrome podiums of this period.
